Postgraduate Education for Andalucía TECH students in South Korea

The Government of the Republic of Korea has launched a 2014-2015 International Students Scholarship Program for postgraduate studies, with the aim of providing higher education in Korea and promoting international exchange in education, as well as mutual friendship amongst the participating countries.

This program involves 60 Korean universities and will benefit up to 880 students from 157 different nationalities. In Spain, the number selected for this program will be 4 people and the entity responsible for the selection will be the National Institution for International Education, NIIED.
Duration of the scholarship
The duration of the scholarship depends on the type of applicant. For Master’s degree, the scholarship will consist of one year of Korean language and two years master’s studies. For doctorate degree, the scholarship will consist of one year of Korean language and three years of PhD studies.


  • Airfare: Round-trip economy class ticket.
  • Monthly Allowance: 900,000 won per month
  • Research Allowance: 210,000 – 240,000 won per semester
  • Relocation (Settlement) Allowance: 200,000 won upon arrival
  • Language Training Fee: Full coverage
  • Tuitions: All admission fees are covered by the host institution (university)
  • Dissertation Printing Costs: 500,000- 800,000 won
  • Medical Insurance: 20,000 won per month

Special funding for scholars who are proficient in the Korean language (TOPIK, Level 5 o 6): 100,000won per month.
Applicants can apply this program through designated universities in Korea or via the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Spain. Applicants who apply for this program via the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Spain can apply to 3 different universities in Korea. However applicants who apply to one of designated universities in Korea may only apply to this university.

The Office ¨UMA-ATECH Puente con Corea¨ works as a bridge to help applicants send required documents to the Korean Embassy in Madrid, Spain. Thus, applicants can apply to our office with required documents until 14 March 2014 at 10:00 AM by email: and the office will proceed to send the application to the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Spain.
